| dc.description.abstract | Türe özgü ortalama ve maksimum yaşam sürelerini uzatan ve yaşa bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan hastalıkları geciktirdiği bilinen en etkili yöntem olan uzun süreli kalori kısıtlamasının (KK) etki mekanizmasıyla ilgili hipotezlerden biri de serbest radikal oluşumunun azalmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, KK'nın farelerde lipid peroksidasyonuna etkisini incelemek için kas dokusunda TBARS (Tiyobarbitürikasit ile reaksiyona giren maddeler) düzeyleri ölçüldü. KK uygulanan grupta, TBARS düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre daha düşük olarak tespit edildi (p0.0248) ve bu bulgunun yaşlanmanın serbest radikal hasarı teorisiyle uyumlu olabileceği değerlendirildi. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Long term caloric restriction (CR) is the best method known which increases species specific maximum life span and postpones age dependent diseases. One of the hypotheses about the mechanism of the OR's effect is the reduction of free radical production. In this study, in order to investigate the effect of CR on lipid peroxidation, muscle tissue TBARS (Thiobarbituric acid reaction substances) levels were measured. In the CR group TBARS levels were found significantly low than the control group (p0.0248). This finding has been thought to be evaluated in accordance with the free radical theory of aging. | en_US |
