Ortaokul İngilizce Öğretmenlerinin Değişime Eğilimleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul İngilizce öğretmenlerinin değişime yönelik eğilimlerinin düzeyinibelirlemektir. Bu amaçla Büyüköztürk, Uslu ve Akbaba Altun (2017) tarafından geliştirilen öğretmenlereuyarlanan, değişimde girişimcilik, değişimin yararına inanma, değişime direnme, statükoyu korumafaktörlerinden oluşan “Değişim Eğilimleri Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Kırıkkale’de MEB’e bağlı resmî ortaokullardaçalışan ve çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılmak isteyen 91 İngilizce öğretmenine anket formu uygulanmıştır.Uygulanan anket formundan elde edilen veriler SPSS 22.0 ile analiz edilmiş, bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi ileanaliz sonuçları yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına bakıldığında, katılımcıların genel olarak değişimeyönelik eğilimlerinin orta düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Ortaokul İngilizce öğretmenlerinin değişimin yararınainanma alt boyutuna dair eğilimlerinin en yüksek düzeyde; değişimde girişimcilik boyutuna dair eğilimlerininyüksek düzeyde; değişime direnç ve statükoyu koruma boyutlarına dair eğilimlerin düşük düzeyde olduğugözlemlenmektedir. Ayrıca araştırmanın sonuçlarında, mesleki kıdem ve kullanılan eğitim teknolojileri araçları(tahta/akıllı tahta) değişkenleri ile değişimde girişimcilik, değişimin yararına inanma, değişimle dirençboyutları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu, cinsiyet değişkeni ile sadece değişimde girişimcilik boyutuarasında anlamlı bir fark oluştuğu, yaş faktörünün ise ölçeğin 4 boyutunda da anlamlı farklar ortaya koyduğugörülmüştür.

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of tendencies of English teachers towards change insecondary schools. For that purpose, ‘’Change Tendencies Scale’’ developed by Büyüköztürk, Uslu and AkbabaAltun (2017), adapted for teachers, consisting of the factors of entrepreneurship in change, belief in the benefitof change, resistance to change, status quo protection was used. A questionnaire was applied to 91 Englishteachers working in Kırıkkale in official secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education andwishing to participate voluntarily. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 andthe results were interpreted with t-test for independent samples. The results showed that tendencies of theparticipants towards change in general were moderate. It was observed that English teachers' tendencies atsecondary schools for belief in the benefit of change were highest; their tendencies towards entrepreneurship inchange were high; however, their tendencies towards resistance to change and the status quo protection werelow. Moreover, for the results of the study, It was found that there were significant differences between thevariables of professional seniority, educational technology tools used (board / smart board) and the dimensionsof entrepreneurship in change, belief in the benefit of change, resistance to change, there were significantdifferences between gender variable and only the dimension of entrepreneurship in change, there weresignificant differences between age factor and 4 dimensions of the scale.
