İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmeni Adaylarının Etkinlik Kavramına Yönelik Algılarının İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının etkinlik kavramına yönelik algılarını incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Türkiye’nin doğusunda yer alan bir devlet üniversitesindeki ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği lisans programının dördüncü sınıfında öğrenim gören 12 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla görüşme yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda veri toplama aracı olarak, öğretmen adaylarının etkinlik kavramına ilişkin algılarını incelemeye yönelik yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda öğretmen adayları etkinlik kavramını; materyal kullanılan, oyun oynatılan, aktif katılımı sağlayan, daha iyi öğrenmeyi sağlayan, dersi sevdiren, grup çalışması yapılan, öğrenmeyi kolaylaştıran, şarkı söyletilen ve günlük yaşamdan örneklerin kullanıldığı uygulamalar ve öğretim yöntemi olarak algıladıkları görülmüştür. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının neredeyse yarısı lisans öğrenimleri süresince etkinlik kavramına yönelik ders almadıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Ders aldığını belirten öğretmen adaylarının büyük çoğunluğu ise bu derslerin, etkinlik kavramına yönelik olarak yetersiz bilgi sağladığını dile getirmişlerdir.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of prospective primary mathematics teachers on the concept of activity. The case study design among qualitative methods was followed in this study. The participants were 12 prospective teachers who were fourth graders in the department of primary mathematics teacher training at a state university located in the east of Turkey. For data collection, interview was used. Accordingly, separate semi-structured interview form was developed as data collection tool to investigate the perceptions of prospective teachers on the concept of activity. Content analysis was used as a qualitative research analysis technique for the data gathered through interviews. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the study, prospective teachers were able to understand the concept of activity; materials used, games played, active participation, provide better learning, the course is popularized, group work, learning is made, singing and everyday life as examples of applications and teaching methods were seen. In addition, almost half of the prospective teachers stated that they did not take lessons for the concept of activity during their undergraduate education. The majority of the prospective teachers who stated that they took lessons stated that these lessons provided insufficient information for the concept of activity.
