Anlamlı Etkinliklere Katılım Ölçeğinin Psikometrik Özellikleri: Türkiye’de İleri Yaş Örneklemi Üzerine Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Çeşitli etkinliklere katılım, bireylerin yaşam kalitelerini ve refah düzeylerini arttıran önemli bir unsurdur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Goldberg ve arkadaşları (2002) tarafından geliştirilen, daha sonra Eakman ve arkadaşları (2010) tarafından yaşlı bireylerle geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik çalışması yürütülen “Anlamlı Etkinliklere Katılım Ölçeği”nin Türkçe formunun psikometrik analizlerinin yapılmasıdır. Araştırma Karabük (n=150) ve Kırıkkale (n=135) illerinde yaşamlarını sürdüren, 60 ve daha yukarı yaş grubunda olan toplam 285 birey ile yürütülmüştür. Ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerini test etmek amacıyla istatistiksel olarak hem açımlayıcı hem de doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri uygulanmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi, ölçeğin orijinal formuna benzer şekilde “Kişisel yeterlilik bileşeni” ve “Sosyal deneyim bileşeni” olarak adlandırılan iki alt boyuttan oluştuğunu ve toplam varyansın %60.8’sini açıkladığını göstermiştir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ise ölçeğin 12 maddeden oluşan iki faktörlü yapısının iyi uyum indekslerine sahip bir model olarak doğrulamıştır. AEK ölçeğinin geneli için Cronbach Alfa .90, “Kişisel yeterlilik bileşeni” için .81 ve “Sosyal deneyim bileşeni” için .86 olarak hesaplanmıştır.

Participation in various activities is an important element that increases the quality of life and welfare of individuals. The aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey of the Turkish version, which was developed by Goldberg et al. (2002) and then carried out validity and reliability analysis with older sample by Eakman et al. (2010). The study conducted with a total of 285 individuals who is 60 and over age group and living in Karabuk (n=150) and Kırıkkale (n=135) city center. In order to test the psychometric properties of the scale, both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes were applied statistically. According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, it was found that the Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey consisted of two subdimensions called “Personal–Competence component” and “Social– Experiential component” similar to the original form, and had a structure explaining 60.8% of the total variance. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, the two-factor structure of the scale with 12 items was confirmed as a model with good fit indexes. The Cronbach Alpha .90 for the hole of Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey, .81 for the “Personal– Competence component” and .86 for the “Social–Experiential component” show that the reliability level of the scale is high.
