Bilim ve sanat merkezlerinde destek eğitimi almış 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerin müzik dersine ilişkin tutumları

Abstract

Ülkemizde müzik eğitiminin kalitesinin ve etkililiğin artırılmasına yönelik olarak çalışmalar uzun bir süreden beri devam etmektedir. Türkiye'de MEB'e bağlı Bilim ve Sanat Merkezlerinde verilen müzik eğitimi de bu çabalara katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu tezin konusu, bilim ve sanat merkezlerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin müzik derslerine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemektir. Çalışmanın örneklemini 2012-2013 eğitim - öğretim yılında Türkiye'deki her bir bölgeden yedi Bilim ve Sanat Merkezine devam eden (Kırşehir, Bursa, Antalya, İzmir, Ordu, Malatya, Urfa) ve destek eğitimi almış 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıflarda eğitim gören 154 kız (%45) öğrenci ve 188 (%55) erkek olmak üzere toplam 342 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaca yönelik öğrencilerin müzik dersine ilişkin tutumlarını belirlemek için 10 alt amaç belirlenmiştir. Betimsel tarama modelinde yapılan çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Çizmeci'nin (2006:123, 124) geliştirmiş olduğu 20 maddeden oluşan ve 5'li likert tipi müzik tutum ölçeği (Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı: 86) kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracının bu çalışmadaki Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı. 97 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde SPSS 17.00 (Stastical Package For Social Sciences) paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans (f), yüzde (%), aritmetik ortalama ( ) ve standart sapma (SD) dağılımları hesaplanmıştır. Bununla birlikte, çoklu değişkenlerle (cinsiyet, sınıf, anne eğitim düzeyi, baba eğitim düzeyi, anne meslek, baba meslek, enstrüman çalma durumu, anne enstrüman çalma durumu ve baba enstrüman çalma durumu) karşılaştırma yapmada verilerin normal dağılım gösterip göstermediğine kolmogorov smirnov normallik testi ile bakılmış ve verilerin normal dağılım göstermediği görülerek iki değişkenli karşılaştırmalarda Mann-Whitney U testi, üç ve daha fazla değişkenlerde de Kruskal Wallis H-testi kullanılmıştır. Tutum düzeyi ise tek örneklem t testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Kruskal Wallis H-testi analizlerinde anlamlı farklılık bulunduğunda farklılığın kaynağı Tukey HSD testi ile test edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında BİLSEM'lerde destek eğitimi almış 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının olumlu düzeyde ve yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Buna ek olarak çalışmanın en önemli sonuçları arasında kız öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutum düzeylerinin, erkek öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde olduğu, BİLSEM'lerde müzik eğitimi alan öğrencilerin tutumlarında sınıf düzeyi arttıkça azalma olduğu, BİLSEM'lerde müzik eğitimi alan öğrencilerinden enstrüman çalan öğrencilerin müzik dersine yönelik tutumlarının herhangi bir enstrüman çalmayan öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğu yer almaktadır. Çalışma bulgular ışığında önerilerle tamamlanmıştır.

There have been ongoing studies in Turkey to enhance the quality and effectiveness of music education. Music education provided in Science and Art Centers (SAC) of Ministry of Education in Turkey supports these efforts. This thesis aims to determine the attitudes of students in these centers towards music education. The sample of this study includes 154 female (45%) and 188 male students (55%) totaling 342 from 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders receiving education in SAC located in 7 different provinces (Kırşehir, Bursa, Antalya, İzmir, Ordu, Malatya, Urfa) selected from 7 different regions of Turkey. Ten sub-aims were specified to determine the attitudes of students towards music lessons in SAC. Conducted by using descriptive analysis method, music attitude scale consisted of 20 items in a 5 point likert-type ( Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of: 86) developed by Çizmeci (2006) was used for data collection. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of this scale was calculated as .97 in this study. SPSS 17.00 ( Stastical Package for Social Sciences) was used for the analysis of data. In the study, frequency(f), percentage (%), mean ( ) and standard deviation (SD) were calculated. However, in comparisons between multiple variables (gender, class, mother education level education level, father education level, mother's occupation, father's occupation, status of playing a musical instrument , status of mother's playing a musical instrument and status of father's playing a musical instrument), to check whether the data has a normal distribution, Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was conducted. In comparisons for bivariate analsysis Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H for three or more variables were used since the data represents no normal distribution. Attitude level was analyzed with one sample t-test. When significant differences were found with Kruskal-Wallis H-test, the source of significancy was tested with Tukey HSD test. In the light of the findings, attitudes of students towards music lessons in SAC were found as highly positive. Moreover, the most important findings of our study were that the attitude levels of female students are higher than that of males, that attitude levels of students decrease as the grades increase and that attitude levels of students playing a musical instrument are higher than those of students who do not play a musical instrument. The sdudy was completed with suggestions in line with the findings.
