Signal source direction determination is used effectively especially in radar, locating and electronic warfare systems also in civil techniques such as detection of mine reserves, mobile communication systems, finding the illegal broadcasts and location of missing mountaineers. The systems that used to only determine the location of a single signal source have obtained the ability to simultaneously detect the direction and location of signals from multiple signal sources following the development of subspace techniques. The Singular Value Decomposition method and the Matrix Pencil method are two of the methods used in subspace signal analysis. This study aims at determining the arrival directions of the signals coming from one or more signal sources to the antenna array using these methods. In addition, results are compared considering the presence of noise in the incoming signals to the antenna array. The results show that the directions of the signals coming to the antenna array can be determined via the Singular Value Decomposition and Matrix Pencil method, they also show that there are two proportions; a direct one between the number of signal sources and the singular values of the system, and an inverse proportion between signal to noise ratio and singular values.
