dc.description.abstractTheory of elasticity was used to determine closed form stress functions of a curved beam. The beam was subjected to a single force, arbitrarily directed at the free end. Stresses were plotted for various directions of the force and various sections of the beam. Only uniformly distributed normal stress was observed when the cantilever beam was subjected to a single axial force.en_US
