The aim of this study is to evaluate of prose in Turkish course book for the first year students in terms of readability, which is the most important element in choosing the appropriate text. In this study, the readability of the prose in Turkish course book for the first year students prepared by the minister of education has been evaluated. While the readability of the text is being evaluated, the formula of Ateşman adapted from Flesch's formula to Turkish has been used.
