Bilgisayar Destekli Geometri Öğretiminin 7. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Başarısına Ve Özyeterlilik Algısına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, bilgisayar destekli geometri öğretiminin 7. Sınıf öğrencilerinin geometri başarısına ve geometri özyeterlilik algısına etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırma, kontrol gruplu ön test ve son test deneysel araştırma deseni ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara ili, Mamak ilçesinde bulunan Batuhan Ortaokulundaki 27 deney grubunda ve 27 da kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 54 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacı tarafından deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere 5 hafta süre ile uygulama yapılmıştır. Deney grubundaki öğrencilere dörtgenlerin özellikleri ve alan konusu bilgisayar destekli öğretim ile işlenirken kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere geleneksel yöntem ile eş zamanlı olarak ders işlenmiştir. Çalışmada, Cantürk-Günhan ve Başer (2007) tarafından hazırlanan geometriye yönelik öz yeterlilik algı ölçeği ve araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan geometri başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde öğrencilerin geometriye yönelik özyeterlilikleri ve başarı ön testi ve son testinden aldıkları puanların ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla Mann-Whitney U test ve Wilcoxon signed-rank test testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, deney ve kontrol gruplarındaki öğrencilerin başarı ve geometriye yönelik özyeterlik inançları arasında anlamlı fark olduğu belirlenmiştir.

This study investigated the effects of the computer based geometry teaching on seventh grade students' achievement and self-efficacy towards geometry. Pre-test and post-test models were used in the study. The sampling of study was performed in seventh grade students of Batuhan Secondary School at Mamak in Ankara. There were a total of 54 students of which 27 were in the control group and 27 in the experiment group. The application was done by the researchers on the experiment and the control groups in a five-week study. The quadrilateral subject was taught with computer aided education to the experiment group and with traditional education methodology to the control group in this time period. During the study, geometry self-efficiency tests prepared by Cantürk-Günhan ve Başer (2007) and the geometry success test for computer aided education prepared by the researchers, were applied. During the analysis of obtained data, Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to clarify the meaningful difference between the results of geometry self-efficiency and geometry success pre and post tests, As a result of the research, there was a significant difference between the student's geometry self-efficiency and geometry success in the experiment and the control groups. In the end of the students' interview, it is determined that there are positive effects on most students about computer aided education.
