Bir Lisedeki 9. ve 10. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin İnternet Bağımlılığı Düzeyi ve İlişkili Faktörler

Abstract

Araştırma, bir lisede 9. ve 10. sınıfta okuyan öğrencilerin internet bağımlılığını ve ilişkili faktörleri belirlemek üzere tanımlayıcı tipte yapılmıştır. Lisedeki 9 ve 10. sınıflarda yer alan 315 öğrenci çalışma evrenini oluşturmuştur. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve İnternet Kullanım Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin % 61,3'ü kızlardan oluşmaktadır ve yaş ortalaması 15,43 0,6'dır. Öğrencilerin % 92,1'inin evinde bilgisayar ve % 88,6'sının internet bağlantısı vardır. Yaklaşık % 28,9'u, 7 yaş ve öncesinde bilgisayarla tanıştığını ifade etmiştir. Öğrencilerin interneti en çok eğlence amaçlı kullandıkları belirlenmiştir. İnternet Kullanım Ölçeğinden aldıkları puana göre öğrencilerin % 23,8'inde internet bağımlılığı yoktur, % 54,3'ünde hafif düzeyde, % 18,4'ünde orta düzeyde ve % 3,5'inde ağır düzeyde internet bağımlılığı olduğu görülmüştür. Cinsiyetle, yaşla, gelirle, anne ve baba eğitim düzeyiyle, evde bilgisayar ve internet varlığıyla internet bağımlısı olma durumu arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar bulunmamıştır (p0,05). İnternetle tanışma yaşı ile internet bağımlılığı ölçeğinden alınan puan arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur (p0,05).

This descriptive study was conducted to measure the level of Internet addiction and related factors in 9th and 10th grade high school students. The 315 students in the 9th and 10th grades of this high school formed the population of the study. Data were collected with a Personal Information Form and the Internet Addiction Scale. Among the students, 61.3% were girls and mean age stood at 15.43 0.6 years. Of the students, 92.1% had a computer at home and 88.6% were connected to the Internet. A group representing 28.9% stated that they had become acquainted with the computer at the age of 7 or earlier. It was found that the students used the Internet mostly for entertainment. According to the scores the students displayed on the Internet Addiction Scale, it was found that 23.8% of the students had no Internet addiction, 54.3% had a slight addiction, 18.4% had a moderate addiction, and 3.5% had a severe addiction. No significant statistical association was found between becoming addicted to the Internet and gender, age, parents' educational levels, having a computer and access to the Internet at home (p>0.05). There were significant differences between the Internet addiction scores and the age of becoming acquainted with.
