Abstract

Bir bölgenin sosyal ve ekonomik durumunun ortaya çıkarılmasında şer’iye sicillerinde yer alan tereke kayıtları araştırmacılara büyük ölçüde kolaylık sağlamaktadır. Bu kayıtlarda ölen bir kimsenin geride bıraktığı her türlü menkul (nakit para, altın ve gümüş vs.)ve gayr-ı menkul (ev,dükkân,han,hamam,arsa,tarla çiftlik vs.) eşyanın yanı sıra vereselerin tek tek isimlerinin belirtilmesi dönemin nüfus yapısı (Müslim ve gayr-ı müslim) ve sayısı konusunda da önemli ip uçlarıvermektedir. Tereke defterleri esas alınarak yapılan bu çalışmada; anılan döneme ait Bolu’da bulunan evler ve özellikleri ile evlerde kullanılan eşyalar, aile hayatı (eş sayıları, çocuk sayıları, mehir durumları),sosyal hayatın vazgeçilmez unsuru olan kitaplar ile yörede kullanılan isimler ve lakaplar ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
