Okuma ve anlama problemlerinin tespiti ve giderilmesine ilişkin örnek olay çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışma, okuma ve anlama problemi olan bir ikinci sınıf öğrencisinin okuma ve anlama problemlerinin giderilmesine yönelik olarak yapılan uygulama ve değerlendirmeleri kapsamaktadır. Okuma ve anlama problemlerinin tespiti ve bu problemlerin ortadan kaldırılmasına yönelik bir örnek olay çalışmasıdır. Çalışmada öncelikli olarak deneğin okuma hataları ve nedenleri, sonrasında ise bu hataların giderilmesine yönelik izlenecek yöntem tespit edilmiştir. Okuma ve anlama hatalarının değerlendirilmesinde Yanlış Analizi Envanteri kullanılmıştır. Hataların genel olarak motivasyon eksikliğinden kaynaklandığı tespit edilmiş, ortadan kaldırılması için 11 haftalık bir öğretim programı uygulanmıştır. Deneğin okumaya karşı motivasyonunu sağlamak amacı ile araştırmacılar tarafından deneğin kişisel özellik ve günlük yaşantılarına dayalı olarak 7 okuma parçası yazılmış ve Türkçe ders kitabında okuma parçaları içindeki ana kahramanların ismi, deneğin ismi ile değiştirilerek parçalar yeniden düzenlenmiştir. Okuma motivasyonu sağlandıktan sonra hataların ortadan kaldırılması için “Tekrarlı Okuma Yöntemi” seçilmiş ve çalışmalar tekrarlı okuma yöntemi ile sürdürülmüştür. Ön test sonuçlarında endişe düzeyinde olan denek son test sonuçlarında öğretim düzeyine ulaşmıştır.

This case study includes the attempts and assessments related to determination and elimination of reading and comprehension difficulties of a second grade student with reading and comprehension deficiencies. The Informal Reading Inventory was used to assess the reading and comprehension deficiencies of the subject. It was found that the reading and comprehension problems of the subject were related to lack of motivation. A training program for 11 weeks was implemented in this study to eliminate the reading and comprehension problems of the subject. With the purpose of ensuring the motivation of the subject for reading, 7 informal reading pieces based on the personal characteristics and daily experiences of the subject were written by the researchers. The reading pieces were edited by replacing the names of the main characters with the name of the subject in the Turkish textbooks. After establishing the motivation of the subject for reading, the “Repeated Reading Method” was chosen to eliminate the reading disabilities and studies were continued with the repeated reading method. The subject, who was in the Anxiety Level according to the pre-test results, reached the Instructinal Level according to the final test results.
