Blood smears from 20 adult and healthy Ostriches were tested for detecting ANAE activity by a specific staining procedure. Thrombocytes, heterophils and eosinophile granulocytes gave negative reaction, whereas monocytes showed a diffuse positivity. On the contrary, the pattern of ANAE in T lymphocytes was granular, with 1 or 2, sometimes more, red granules. In blood, the percent of ANAE positive lymphocytes was 59.3 +/- 0.40%. In conclusion, ANAE activity showed a specific granular expression in T lymphocytes in Ostriches and allowed to determine directly and quickly the ratio of circulationg T lymphocytes.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessleukocyteT lymphocyteANAE activityostrichDetermination of alpha naphthyl acetate esterase activity in the peripheral blood leukocytes of ostrich (Struthio camelus masaicus)Article15531471502-s2.0-2342456958N/AWOS:000221704400003Q4
