His famous work, namely Wafayat al-Nyan, is one of the perfect works which had been written in this field. He achieved to make his book as an encyclopedic dictionary by reviewing tabaqed books which were the first samples of this field. He not only reviewed these tabaqat books but also extended and developed their contents. Wafayat al-Nyein which includes 855 biographies, presents life stories of famous persons who lived in Islamic geography. It mentions about their works, their dates of births and deaths, and some important events that they witnessed in their life. Ibn Khallikan, in his work, deals with famous persons who had lived till his period, but he excepted the Prophet and his Companions (the Ashab). Wafayat al-Nyein contains very valuable records in terms of Saljuqids history. In this work, the life stories of sultans of Grand Saljuqids, members of Saljuqid dynasty, the Saljuqids commanders and other Turkish rulers of that era take place. In this article, the biographical records of Saljuqid sultans which take place in Wafayat al-A'yem were translated from Arabic to Turkish.
