Bednarek-Ochyra & Ochyra (Racomitrioideae, Grimmiaceae, Bryopsida) is recorded for the first time in Turkey. The specimens were collected from Kaçkar Mountains National Park in Rize province. The nearest localities of this species are in south Carpathians and Ural mountains.
