Eşitsizliğin ölçülmesinde kullanılan endekslerin birbirleriyle karşılaştırılmaları: Ampirik bir çalışma

Abstract

Eşitsizlik endekslerinin karşılaştırılması teze konu olmuş ve beş farklı eşitsizlik endeksi arasındaki ilişki iki farklı istatistiksel yöntem aracılığıyla irdelenmiştir.Bu istatistiksel eşitsizlik göstergelerinden en yaygın şekilde kullanılanı şüphesiz ki İtalyan istatistikçi olan Corrado Gini tarafından geliştirilen Gini Endeksi'dir. Gini endeksi dışında Theil T Endeksi, Theil L Endeksi, Atkinson Endeksi ve Hoover Endeksi gibi muhtelif istatistiksel eşitsizlik göstergeleri de literatürde mevcuttur.Bu endekslere ilişkin açıklamalara ve bilgilere tezde yer verilmiştir. Türkiye'de hastane yatak sayılarının illere dağılımıeşitsizlik araştırmasına konu olmuştur. 1977-2014 aralığındakiilgili veriler elde edilmiş ve Sağlık Bakanlığı'na bağlı kuruluşlardaki hastane yatak sayılarının, bakanlık dışı kuruluşlardaki hastane yatak sayılarının ve toplam hastane yatak sayılarının illere dağılımındaki eşitsizlik bu beş endeks aracılığıyla ölçülmüştür.Bu veri setlerinden yapılan hesaplamalarda her bir veri setinde her bir endeks ilgili yıl aralığı için 38 kez hesaplanmıştır. Bu hesaplamalar sonucu oluşan endeks değerleri aracılığıyla her bir veri seti için ayrı olmak üzere bu beş endeksin ilişkilerine Korelasyon Analizi ve Hiyerarşik Kümeleme Analizi yardımıyla bakılmıştır. The comparison among the inequality indexes is studied in this thesis and the relationship among five different inequality indexes is investigated by using two different statistical methods.The most common use of the notion of inequality is Gini Index which was found and devoloped by Corrado Gini. Other than Gini Index there exist Theil T Index, Theil L Index, Atkinson Index and Hoover Index in the literature. There are explanations and informations about Gini Index, Theil T Index, Theil L Index, Atkinson Index and Hoover Index in the thesis. The inequality in the distribution of beds in Turkish hospitals to the provinces of Turkeyis the subject of this research. The corresponding data for the number of beds in Turkish hospitals for the years from 1977 to 2014isobtainedand the inequality in the distribution of the number of beds in hospitals to the provinces of Turkey for the institutions of Ministry of Health, for the institutions which are not working directly under the supervision of the ministry and the total number of hospital beds are measured by using these five indexes.In the calculations made from these datasets, each index from each dataset is calculated 38 times for the corresponding year interval. By using the outcome of the index values, the relationship of these five indexes with each other for each dataset is analyzed via Correlation Analysis and Hierarchial Cluster Analysis.
