Osmanlı Klasik Döneminde üç valide sultan vakfiyesi mukayesesi

Abstract

?Osmanlı Klasik Döneminde Üç Valide Sultan Vakfiyesi Mukayesesi? adlı yüksek lisans tezimiz valide vakıflarını birbiriyle karşılaştırarak farklı dönemlerdeki vakıf özelliklerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Üç ayrı valideyi ve onların vakfiyelerini seçmemizdeki amaç ise farklı vakfiyelerdeki ortak ve farklı yönleri daha net görebilmemizi sağlamaktadır. Tezde 16. ve 17. yy.larda faaliyet gösteren valide sultan vakıfları ve vakfiyeleri vakıf defterlerindeki bilgiler ışığında ele alınmaktadır. Tezde farklı kişilerin yaptırmış olduğu vakıf ve vakfiyeleri karşılaştırmalı olarak incelediğimiz için vakıf araştırmalarına farklı bir bakış açısı kazandırdığımız kanaatindeyiz.Tezimiz giriş, dört bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Girişte diğer bölümlere hazırlık olması açısından haseki sultan, valide sultan, vakıf ve vakfiye konularında genel bilgiler verilmiştir. Birinci bölümde Hafsa Sultan'ın hayatı, eserleri ve 576 numaralı defterdeki vakfiyesi incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde Hatice Turhan Sultan'ın hayatı, eserleri ve 744 numaralı defterdeki vakfiyesi incelenirken, üçüncü bölümde de Gülnûş Sultan'ın hayatı, eserleri ve 1640 numaralı defterdeki vakfiye incelemesi yer almaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde ise ilk üç bölümdeki bilgiler ışığında vakfiyelerin karşılaştırması yapılmıştır.Osmanlı İmparatorluğu altı asrı aşan tarih sahnesindeki varlığıyla, dünya tarihi içinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu imparatorluğu güçlendiren en önemli kurumlardan birisi de vakıf müessesesidir. Vakıflar, Osmanlı Devleti'nin gücünü gösteren kurumlar içinde en önemlilerden birisidir. Altı asır boyunca padişahlar, şehzadeler, padişahın eşleri ve padişah anneleri çeşitli şeyler vakfederek Osmanlı Devleti'nin sosyal gücünü ortaya koymaya yardım etmişlerdir.Osmanlı toplumuna ve İslam dinine sonradan katılan valide sultanların vakıf kurma konusundaki hassasiyeti takdir edilecek bir davranıştır. Onların bu konudaki hassasiyetleri Osmanlı kültürüne zenginlik katmış ve bir anlamda Osmanlı kadınının gücünü göstermiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Osmanlı, Vakıf, Valide Sultan, Vakfiye

Our postgraduate thesis named ?Comparison of Endowments of three sultanas in the Ottoman Classical Era? aims at putting forward the characteristics of the endowments in different periods by comparing the endowments with each other. Our aim for choosing three different sultanas and their endowments is to make you realize the common and different features of different endowments. In the thesis, sultana foundations and endowments that operated during the 16th and 17th centuries are being discussed in light with the information written in the endowment books. As we examine the foundations and endowments that were formed by different people, through making comparison among them, we think that we develop a different point of view for the studies on foundations.Our thesis consists of an introduction part, four parts and a conclusion part. In order to present a background, general information on the matters of woman in the harem much favored by the Sultan, Sultana, foundation and endowment are provided in the introduction part. In the first part, life of Hafsa Sultana, her works and her endowment written in the book numbered 576 are examined. While the life of Hatice Turhan Sultana, her works and her endowment written in the book numbered 744 are being examined in the second part, the life of Gülnuş Sultana, her works and her endowment written in the book numbered 1640 are being examined in the third part. In the fourth part, comparison is being made on endowments in light of the information provided in the first three parts. Ottoman Empire has an important place in the history of world by its presence on the history stage for over six centuries. One of the most important institutions that strengthen this empire is the foundation institution. Foundations are one of the most crucial institutions among other institution that reflect the power of the Ottoman Empire. For six centuries sultans, sons of sultans, wives of sultans and mothers of sultans helped to present the social power of the Ottoman Empire by endowing different things.The sensitivity of sultanas who joined the Ottoman society and accepted the Islam region afterwards, on the matter of founding foundations is a behavior that should be appreciated. Their sensitivity towards this matter enriched the Ottoman culture and it showed the power of the Ottoman women in a sense.Key Words: Ottoman, Foundation, Sultana, Endowment
