Öğe Citrobacter coseri as a rare cause of a sinus infection: A case report(Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry, 2015) Tunali M.; Selek B.; Küçükodaci Z.; Özdemir H.; Koçyiğit I.D.; Aytugar E.; Süer B.T.There are many complications associated with a maxillary sinus, during extraction of a maxillary posterior teeth. Root of a tooth which is accidentally pushed into the maxillary sinus is one of the reasons that make up 10% of the dental-sourced maxillary sinusitis. In the literature, although many types of bacteria cause dental-sourced sinus infection, enteric Citrobacter coseri (C. koseri) is a rare factor of maxillary sinusitis. A 34-year-old woman presented to our clinic with pain in the right upper jaw molar teeth region. A displaced tooth root was detected by a panoramic film in an edentulous maxillary first molar region. Surgical removal of the tooth root was undertaken via an open sinus surgery with resolution of symptoms. Green tooth root was analyzed in an anaerobic and aerobic culture in a microbiology laboratory. After 24-hour in 37 °C aerobic incubation time pure gram negative basil colonies were observed. Following the conventional methods colonies also were analyzed with the compact automatic identification system VITEK2, and were detected as C. coseri.Öğe Clinical application of second generation trombosite concentration(2012) Koçyiğit I.D.; Tunali M.; Özdemir H.; Kartal Y.; Süer B.T.The therapeutic use of autologous platelet-rich fibrin constitutes a relatively new biotechnology that has been a breakthrough in the stimulation and acceleration of soft-tissue and bone healing. The efficiency of this process lies in the local and continuous delivery of a wide range of growth factors and proteins, mimicking the needs of the physiological wound healing and reparative tissue processes. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) belongs to a new generation of platelet concentrates, with simplified processing and without biochemical blood handling. This easy protocol allows the production of leukocyte and platelet-rich fibrin clots starting from autologous blood samples. PRF is used especially in clinical Periodontal and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery applications. The significance of the PRF is gradually increasing.Öğe Identity fragmentation and identity governance within the triangle of globalization, the European Union and Turkey(International Relations Council of Turkey, 2006) Özdemir H.This article is based upon the assumption that the European Union has a goal of resolving certain problems pertaining to globalization that its members face, and that Turkey views the membership procedure as a solution of such problems. The awakening sub-identities and the erosion of dividing borders are causing nation-states to face a series of problems concerning sovereignty and identity, such as ontological security and identity fragmentation. To solve such problems, the nation-states compromise their single-centered and assimilationist identity management policies in favor of multi-centered identity governance. With identity governance, not only the national governments, but also the local authorities and the European Union have word on identity issues. Identity governance, despite dwindling sovereign rights, is performed successfully within the European Union, and is recommended to the Turkish government. From Turkey's side, as a solution to the problem of identity fragmentation, the membership process provides a common, unifying and shared goal for groups with different identities.
