    AbstractEvery year, millions of employees around the world are injured due to occupational accidents, suffer from occupational diseases, or die. It is possible to reduce the costs caused by occupational accidents and to create safe working conditions by taking occupational health and safety precautions. Therefore, the importance of occupational health and safety is increasing day by day in many countries, including Turkey. In this study, the distribution of employees who had an occupational accident in Turkey according to their genders and the time period in which accidents occur are investigated. Tables prepared by the SGK between 2009-2019, including statistics regarding the distribution of employees who had an occupational accident according to time periods in which accidents occurred and the gender of employees, were used in this research; these tables were presented in graphics and the data were interpreted. The causes of occupational accidents that occurred in a particular time period and the suggestions regarding the transactions in terms of occupational health and safety were discussed
