The title compound, C12H15NOS, consists of a thioamid and an ?-substituted phenyl group. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c. The unit-cell parameters at 293 K are a = 6.553(5), b = 23.362(5), c = 8.201(5)Å, ? = 112.532(5)°, V = 1159.7(12)Å3, Dx = 1.268 g/cm3, Z = 4. The title compound, C10OH8Br2O2, consists of a tetrahydronaphthalene skeleton composed of a six-membered ring A with arene oxide, monobromo and monohydroxy atoms in cis,cis,cis configuration held in a boat conformation and a six-membered planar ring B, where the ring B carries monobromo atom. The repulsive interactions between the Br and OH atoms affect the topology of the tetrahydronaphthalene moieties.
