Öğe Fair Trade and Organic Food Markets: a Case of Ankara(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 2015) Arslantürk, Yalçın; Aysen, EsinFair trade can be regarded as an output of sustainable development initiatives, promising social, economic as well as environmental improvements. This movement targets farmers and small-scale producers to get what they deserve in return for their labor and to play a greater role in the international trade. This study sets out to investigate the awareness of the tradesman in the organic food market, applications in Turkey in addition to the present situation in Turkey in terms of the institution with a privilege to offer fair-trade certification. For analysis of data, the technique of interview is used. Afterwards the officials at the fair trade institutions in Turkey have been interviewed through phonecalls. The results of the interview suggest that Turkey hasn’t still reached cognitive maturity about market of fair trade. All the data obtained together were SWOT-analyzed. In general, the result of the SWOT analysis suggests that the term fair-trade has a long way to go in order to be widespread all over the country
