Öğe Chorioamnionitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus in a ten weeks pregnant patient(Refik Saydam National Public Health Agency (RSNPHA), 2018) Kaçmaz B.; Özcan-Dağ Z.; Balci M.; Gül S.; Tulmaç Ö.; Çalişkan O.Infections are the most important causes of chorioamnionitis. Causative bacteria are usually genital mycobacteria, anaerobes, enteric Gram-negative bacilli and group B streptococci. Staphylococcus aureus can also rarely be the causative agent. In this study a case of chorioamnionitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus was reported. A ten weeks pregnant was admitted to our hospital with fever, physical examination revealed lower quadrant tenderness. Therapeutic abortion was planned for the patient whose fetal heart sounds were not heard by ultrasound. The meropenem treatment was administered to the patient with the pre-diagnosis of chorioamnionitis after obtainined cultures. Then Staphylococcus aureus was growed in the blood cultures and in the cultures of amniotic membranes obtained during operation. The histopathologic examination of the amniotic membranes was reported as acute funisit and acute chorioamnionitis. The therapy was continued with cefazoline and completed in 14 days. As a result Staphylococcus aureus should also be considered as a causative agent in chorioamnionitis cases and the empirical therapy should be administered accordingly. © 2018, Refik Saydam National Public Health Agency (RSNPHA).Öğe The effect of reader identity to the vocabulary formation of turkish learning students(T.C. Milli Egitim Bakanligi, 2016) Balci M.; Melanlioğlu D.Why there is difference in teaching second or foreign language from person to person even commination is the same. For the comunication with the student in a specific language, student must know, at least, to understand and to explain in that language. Here is very important where the student learned language. If student learners Turkish language in he's country then it has bigger value. It is like this because students themselves must find the way, outside the teaching institutions, how to improve and learn language. In this kind of situation improving reading skills gets more importance. One reader identity and the wealth of words that can be created accordingly learner reading culture, will be more advanced than others. According to the information stated the purpose of the study, the levels of foreign learners who learn Turkish reads creating identity in their country to reveal their thoughts about the sufficiency of the word wealth accordingly. On a personality in line with the opportunities offered by the qualitative research, data were collected from a working group with open-ended questions. The results showed the students the words they use to express themselves when they do not generate the identity reader in the target language is quite limited, have been found to have a reading culture.Öğe Evaluating ESWL related alterations in renal pelvis and proximal ureter by analayting of tissue hydroxyproline levels(Ondokuz Mayis Universitesi, 2015) Fedakar Senyucel M.; Boybeyi O.; KemalAslan M.; Soyer T.; Balci M.; IzzetDemet A.; Cakmak M.The aim of the study is to evaluate extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) related alterations in renal pelvis and proximal ureter by using histopathological methods and analayting hydroxy-proline levels. Twelve New-Zealand rabbits were allocated into two groups (n=6). Right sites of control group (CG, n=6) were harvested without any intervention. In ESWL group (EG), right kidneys of subjects were exposed to 3000 shock waves (14 kV) by using electro-hydraulic type ESWL device three times. Rabbits in EG were sacrificed on day 7. Tissues were examined histopathologically for presence of edema, inflammation, congestion, hemorrhage, fibrosis, vascularization and biochemically for hydroxyproline concentrations. Histopathologically, tissue edema was increased in renal pelvises and inflammation was increased in ureters in the EG compared to that in the CG (p<0.5). There was no difference in other parameters between the groups (p>0.05). Tissue collagen density did not show any significant difference (p>0.05). There was no difference in the tissue hydroxyl-proline levels of ureter samples (p>0.05). Tissue hydroxyproline levels were significantly higher in EG than CG in renal pelvis (p<0.05). In conclusion, although no major histopathological alteration due to ESWL was detected in renal pelvis and proximal ureter, increased hydroxyproline levels in the renal pelvis can be suggested as a finding of tissue injury in collecting system. © 2015 OMU.
