Investigation of mechanical properties of concrete produced with waste granites aggregates

The purpose of this study is to determine the mechanical properties of waste block granites as crushed stone aggregates for concrete production. The granite aggregates were obtained from granite pits around the Kaman town of Kir ehir province in Turkey. The aggregates were tested in terms of density, water absorption, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and static modulus of elasticity with the hardened concrete specimens. According to the study results, the mechanical properties of concrete specimens produced with the waste granites were found to comply with the Turkish and European concrete production standards.
