    Firm-Level Factors Affecting Working Capital: A Research on Companies in Istanbul Stock Exchange Information Index

    Working capital, which has a significant impact on firm activities, is a subject frequently emphasized in the finance literature for years. In this regard, there are studies on the subject in the literature and there are studies in progress. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to identify firm-level factors affecting working capital. For this purpose, the balance sheet and income table data of the companies included in the BIST Informatics Index for the years of 2009-2017 were used. First of all, financial ratios related to dependent and independent variables to be used in the study were calculated with these data. Then, panel data analysis was carried out using the relevant rates. In the analysis, while working capital ratio is used as a dependent variable, other financial ratios calculated are used as independent variables. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there is a significant relationship between working capital ratio and firm size, short-term debt transfer period, cash return period, tangible assets ratio, and credit transfer time variables.
