Öğe A Study of Cooling Effect on the Operation of a Polycrystalline Silicon Solar Cell(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 2009) Erel, ŞerafettinTemperature effect is one of the most significant factors on the operation of solar cells. A polycrystal Si solar cell was utilized in the experiment. The solar cell was illuminated by the constant light flux and typical electrical values were obtained. It was later cooled by the thermoelectric cooler system and the experimental values were obtained. The behaviour of the solar cell at two different temperatures (T=15°C) was examined and the cooling effect on the performance of the solar cell was determined in terms of Voc.Öğe A Thermoelectrical Approach To The Waste Energy Thrown By Chimneys(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 2009) Erel, ŞerafettinGases occurred at the end of combustion based on fossil fuels are thrown by means of chimney through the atmosphere because of negative pressure. The height of chimneys and temperature of the combusting gases seem as significant and nbsp; parameters in the case of thrown gases. Recovery heat energy thrown from the chimneys is aimed using the Method of Thermoelectric Converter (TEC) in terms of electrical energy in this work. For this purpose, a model based on a thermoelectric converting system was thought and a related prototype was developed. In the model, the energy converting system was mounted just on the chimney in order not to affect flow of the gases. It was concerned that the energy thrown from the chimney as a lost energy would be recovered by a converting system in terms of electrical energy in some quantity. The experimental data based on the prototype was obtained related to the waste energy recovery.Öğe The behaviour of a typical single-crystal Si solar cell under high intensity of electric field(Elsevier Science Bv, 2006) Erel, Şerafettin; Akçıl, Mustafa; Erel, Gazi Kamil; Çelik, VeliThe effect of high intensity of electric fields on the operation of a single-crystal Si solar cell was investigated in this work. A single-crystal Si solar cell was irradiated by spontaneous and stimulated light sources. Firstly, a triac-lamp having a tungsten filament and green, yellow, red and blue LEDs from the spontaneous light sources were used to irradiate the solar cell exposed to a high-intensity electric field E-DC. Later, as a stimulated light source He-Ne laser with; lambda = 633.8 nm and P = 1 mW was utilized, and the behaviour of the solar cell exposed to the electric field E-DC ranging from 100 x 10(3) to 500 x 10(3) V/m was studied. The results showed that the V-oc value of the solar cell irradiated by the two light sources mentioned above decreased due to the electric field. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.Öğe Güneş Enerjisiyle Çalışan Bir Termoelektrik Jeneratörde Sıcaklık Faktörünün Etkisi(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 2010) Erel, Şerafettin; Akdaş, Metin; Tugay, MehmetYenilenebilir enerji kaynakları, sahip olduğu önemli avantajlar nedeniyle tüm dünyada önemli hale gelmektedir. Özellikle küresel ısınma nedeniyle enerji tüketiminde güneş enerjisinin kullanımı ayrı bir değer kazanmıştır. Son yıllarda güneş enerjisinden ısı ve elektrik enerjisi eldesi üzerine yoğun bilimsel araştırmalar yapılmaktadır. Genelde elektrik enerjisi fotovoltaik pillerle elde edilirken, güneş enerjisinden sıcak su eldesi ise güneş kollektörleri yardımıyla sağlanmaktadır. Termoelektrik dönüştürücüler yardımıyla güneş enerjisinden elektrik elde tekniği ise bu alanda yeni bir yöntem olarak ele alınmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışmada, termoelektrik dönüştürme elemanlarından oluşan bir peltier dizininin kullanımıyla güneş enerjisinden elektrik enerjisinin elde edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Parabolik bir yansıtıcının kullanımıyla gelen güneş ışınları yansıtılarak soğurulmuş ve ısı enerjisine dönüştürülmüştür. Isıtma işlemi bu yöntemle sağlanırken, soğutma işleminde ise akışkan olarak su ve hava kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak termoelektrik dönüştürücüler yardımıyla güneş enerjisinden beklenen elektrik enerjisi elde edilmiştir.Öğe KUZEM LMS: A new learning management system for online education(Sila Science, 2012) Ergüzen, Atilla; Erel, Şerafettin; Uzun, İbrahim; Bilge, Hasan Şakir; Ünver, Halil MuratE-learning has made rapid strides in recent years thanks to the advances in educational technology. Many educational institutions have started e-learning. In e-learning, there is a need for administration, documentation, delivery of the course content and tracking students' performances all of which are done by the help of a software called Learning Management System (LMS). A robust LMS is a requirement for achieving the goals of the institution providing e-learning. There are basically three kinds of EMS: open source, commercial and institution-based (self-developed). All of them have advantages and disadvantages. Choosing the type of LMS to be used by any institution depends on the decision makers of that institution. Decision makers in Kirikkale University chose to develop its own LMS depending on the individual needs of its distance education center. In this study, a new learning management system called KUZEM LMS, created by the software development team of Kirikkale University and used in the Distance Education Center of the same university is aimed to be introduced.
