Öğe Alpha naphthyl acetate esterase activity in the peripheral blood leukocytes of Turkeys(Indian Veterinary Journal, 2004) Ergun, L; Ozen, A; Ergun, E; Asti, RNAlpha naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE), a member of the nonspecific esterases, has been reported by various investigators to be present in the T lymphocytes, but not in the B lymphocytes (Higgy et al., 1977; Knowles et al., 1978, Yang et al., 1979; Basso et al., 1980; Muller et al., 1981). By demonstrating the presence of the ANAE enzyme it was envisaged to determine the ratio of T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of turkeys and also to determine the staining properties of the leukocytes with this enzyme.Öğe Determination of alpha naphthyl acetate esterase activity in the peripheral blood leukocytes of ostrich (Struthio camelus masaicus)(Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse, 2004) Ergun, E; Ergun, L; Ozen, A; Asti, RNThe aims of this study were to determine the alpha naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE) activity in peripheral blood leukocytes and the ratio of T lymphocytes in healthy adult Ostriches. Blood smears from 20 adult and healthy Ostriches were tested for detecting ANAE activity by a specific staining procedure. Thrombocytes, heterophils and eosinophile granulocytes gave negative reaction, whereas monocytes showed a diffuse positivity. On the contrary, the pattern of ANAE in T lymphocytes was granular, with 1 or 2, sometimes more, red granules. In blood, the percent of ANAE positive lymphocytes was 59.3 +/- 0.40%. In conclusion, ANAE activity showed a specific granular expression in T lymphocytes in Ostriches and allowed to determine directly and quickly the ratio of circulationg T lymphocytes.Öğe Histological studies on the globule leukocytes in the small intestine of sheep(Indian Veterinary Journal, 2004) Ergun, E; Ergun, L; Asti, RN…
