Öğe Physical activity and dietary habits in patients with asthma: How is it related to asthma control?(Elsevier Ltd, 2023) Aydın, Ömür; Çelebi Sözener, Zeynep; Mungan, Dilşad; Özbey, Ümüş; Balaban, Serap; Gökmen, Derya; Zergeroğlu, Ali MuratAims: In this study, we aimed to determine the PA and dietary habits of patients with asthma and whether asthma control had a role in these habits. Methods: Adult patients with asthma were included. Three questionnaires were administered to the patients. and daily step counts were recorded for one week. Asthma control level and severe asthma attacks in the previous year were assessed. Results: A total of 277 patients were included. One hundred eighty-two (65.3%) of the patients were overweight/obese. According to FFQ, none of the food groups were comsumed in recommended levels. According to the IPAQ scores, 82.7% of the patients had mild physical activity. The daily step counts and the PA domain of the HLBS-II in obese patients were lower than the nonobese patients (p = 0.001 and p = 0.034,respectively). The rate of obese patients (n = 9; 50%) was higher in the uncontrolled patients. Conclusion: In our study, the majority of patients were physically inactive. Few patients consumed the recommended amount of foods. Being overweight seems to be a significant barrier to the healthy life behaviors. Although these behaviours do not seem to have an effect on asthma controlling this study, further prospective placebo-controlled studies are needed. © 2022 Elsevier LtdÖğe Turkish Adaptation, Validity, and Reliability of the Subjective Index of Physical and Social Outcome (SIPSO)(2024) Ağır, Hatice; Keskin, Esra Dilek; Karaca, Gülten; Gökmen, DeryaObjective: The Subjective Index of Physical and Social Outcome (SIPSO) has been reported as a valid and reliable tool for measuring the level of community integration in stroke survivors. This study aims to adapt the SIPSO into the Turkish language and to test its reliability and validity in stroke survivors by using modern psychometric analysis (Rasch analysis). Material and Methods: The cross-cultural adaptation was performed according to the current recommendations. Internal construct validity was assessed by Rasch analysis, reliability by internal consistency and Person Separation Index (PSI). External construct validity was evaluated by analyzing correlations between the SIPSO and the Beck Depression Scale (BDS), Mini Mental Test, Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Barthel Index (BI), Functional Ambulation Scale (FAS), Rivermead Mobility Index (RMI), and the Stroke Impact Scale 3.0 (SIS 3.0). Test-retest reliability was assessed by intraclass correlation coefficient and Rasch analysis. Results: A total of 179 community-dwelling stroke survivors were included. Internal consistency of the SIPSO physical subscale showed good to excellent results with Cronbach’s ? of 0.92 and PSI of 0.95. The internal consistency of the SIPSO social subscale showed good to excellent with Cronbach’s ? and PSI of 0.86. External construct validity was highly correlated with BDS, FIM, BI, FAS, RMI, and the SIS 3.0 scales (p<0.001). Conclusion: The Turkish version of the SIPSO is a valid and reliable scale for measuring activities and participition in patients with stroke.Öğe Urkish Adaptation of ACTIVLIM Questionnaire in Neuromuscular Diseases by Rasch Analysis(2019) Kılınç, Muhammed; Öksüz, Çiğdem; Gökmen, Derya; Gürbüz, İpek; Demirci, Cevher; Abaoğlu, Hatice; Yıldırım, Sibel AksuPurpose: The aim of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of the ACTIVLIM questionnaire\rfor Turkish-speaking neuromuscular disease (NMD) patients with the Rasch analysis. Material and\rMethods: 169 NMD patients were included in the study. The independence level regarding activities of\rdaily living was assessed using the Functional Independence Measurement (FIM) scale while activity\rlimitation was evaluated with the Activlim questionnaire. All assessments were performed twice, at the\rbeginning of the study and 15 days later. Statistical analysis was done by using Rasch method. Results:\r95 children with a median age of 10 and 74 adults with a median age of 34.5 years were included in the\rstudy. Seventy patients (41.7%) were assessed a second time. Starting with 22 items, one item\r(ACTIVLIM 5- Sitting on the toilet) displayed disordered thresholds, necessitating collapsing of categories.\rAccording to test/retest reliability, none of the items showed differential item functioning. Internal\rconsistency of the scale is sufficent (Cronbach’s alpha 0.94). The scale showed expected correlation with\rFIM scores (Pearson 0.95) which revealed external construct validity of the scale. Discussion: ACTIVLIM\ris found as a reliable and valid questionnaire that can be used in the Turkish NMD population to assess\ractivity limitation
