Öğe Kanatçıklı (fine tube) borulu ısı değiştiricilerinde toplam ısı transfer katsayısının deneysel olarak bulunması(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 1999) Kutluca, Teoman Oktay; Uzun, Y.İbrahimSUMMARY In this study, a turbulent flow-bench scale heat exchanger has been designed and manufactured specifically for educational purposes. A series of experiments have been carried out to determine the performance parameters of the heat exchanger. The experimental setup consists of a panel and a boiler both of which are appropriately fixed to a steel construction. The heat exchanger, flow meters, an On/Off Switch, a V- Controller, and a Circulation Pump are attached to the panel. There is a 3-kW electric heater in the boiler. Being a closed loop type, the hot water from the boiler is pumped through the heat exchanger and the flow meter and then back to the boiler. The cold water circulation, on the other hand, is obtained from a tap and after passing through the flow meter and the heat exchanger, it is discharged. Steel and Brass tubes of the same diameters are used for the exchanger. Straight tubes are used in the steel heat exchanger, whereas both straight and finned tubes are used in the Brass heat exchanger. Many experimental data for the analysis were obtained by various measurements from flow meters and thermocouples thorough a converter. Using these data, the Effectiveness-Number of Transfer Units (s-NTU) method and the Logarithmic Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) method are employed to calculate Q, s, U, Rc, Nm. The results thus obtained are presented in table form in the thesis.
