Öğe Flexural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Different Cold Joint Details(Kırıkkale Üniversitesi, 2022) Akın, Kamil; Kartal, Saruhan; Müsevitoğlu, Abdullah; Zıa, Ahmad Javid; Sancıoğlu, SadrettinIn the present study, the effects of cold joint type on bending behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams were investigated. Within this scope, four point bending tests of a total of seven beams were carried out. These beams have a width of 150 mm, a height of 300 mm and a length of 3000 mm. Cold joints are formed by three different methods. While the first two of them are in the middle of the beam, that is, at an angle of 45 and 90° with the horizontal in the constant moment region, the last one continues along the beam length at the level of the beam half height. All cold joint joints were obtained as a result of two separate batches of concrete with 24-hour intervals. In order to clearly reveal the bending behavior of reinforced concrete beams with different types of cold joints, a reference beam produced from a monolithic batching is also included in the study. In addition, the effects of the adherence enhancer mortar usage in cold joints on the bending behavior of RC beams were also investigated. For this purpose, two identical specimens of each sample were produced for different joint types and adherence enhancer mortar “MasterBrace ADH 1420” was applied to the cold joint surfaces before the second concrete batching in one sample.
