Öğe On characterizing the Exponential distribution by conditional variance of generalized order statistics(2008) Oncel S.Y.In this study characterization of the Exponential distribution through constant conditional variance of spacings of adjacent generalized order statistics is given under weaker conditions to distribution function than in Keseling (1999, Metrika, 49. p. 38). Characterizations of the Exponential distribution in terms of the ordinal order statistics, record values, sequential order statistics, Pfeifer's record values, k small th record values and progressive type II censored order statistics can be obtained as an extention of our result. © 2009 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
