Öğe Computational results on the compound binomial risk model with nonhomogeneous claim occurrences(Elsevier Science Bv, 2014) Tuncel, Altan; Tank, FatihThe aim of this paper is to give a recursive formula for non-ruin (survival) probability when the claim occurrences are nonhomogeneous in the compound binomial risk model. We give recursive formulas for non-ruin (survival) probability and for distribution of the total number of claims under the condition that the claim occurrences are nonhomogeneous. Behaviour of the coefficient of dependency in FGM distribution is investigated by fuzzy approach. Deliberations are made for the dependency and uncertainty context. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of temperature factor to the amount of gas output from the vaporizator and to enhance the consideration of these factors while adjusting the amount of gas to be given to the patient during the operation. In this study the performance of the anesthesia vaporizer (isoflurane and sevoflurane) was evaluated and it was investigated whether it the vaporizer supplied the dialed amount of anesthetic to the patient. Then, through changing the temperature of anesthetic device between 20-36 degrees C, the changes in the concentration of isoflurane and sevoflurane gases were measured. In conclusion, it was observed that there is no considerable change on the gas concentration in the 20-36 degrees C temperature range.Öğe Neural networks approach for determining total claim amounts in insurance(Elsevier Science Bv, 2009) Dalkilic, Turkan Erbay; Tank, Fatih; Kula, Kamile SanliIn this study, we present an approach based on neural networks, as an alternative to the ordinary least squares method, to describe the relation between the dependent and independent variables. It has been suggested to construct a model to describe the relation between dependent and independent variables as an alternative to the ordinary least squares method. A new model, which contains the month and number of payments, is proposed based on real data to determine total claim amounts in insurance as an alternative to the model suggested by Rousseeuw et al. (1984) [Rousseeuw, P., Daniels, B., Leroy, A., 1984. Applying robust regression to insurance. Insurance: Math. Econom. 3,67-72] in view of an insurer. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. Furthermore, distributions of the minimum and maximum levels of surplus in compound binomial risk model with non-homogeneous claim occurrences are obtained and some of its characteristics are given.
