    ANALYSIS OF VISITOR REVIEWS ON THE CITTÁSLOW EĞIRDIR: THE TRIPADVISOR EXAMPLE

    The primary purpose of this research is to determine visitors’ perceptions of Eğirdir and the factors that positively and negatively affect the visitor experience by examining the comments of individuals who visited Eğirdir after it became a slow city. Qualitative research method was adopted in the study. The data were obtained by document review. In this context, the comments on TripAdvisor by individuals who visited Eğirdir from 2018 to 2022 were noted. These comments were analysed by content analysis. The themes were evaluated within themselves as positive and negative. 119 of the 186 comments were made in a wonderful category, while 151 comments were written in Turkish. The comments were examined within the scope of 11 themes. These themes are Eğirdir, Lake Eğirdir, calmness, cleanliness, local foods, activities, local people, restaurant businesses, accommodation businesses, prices and promotion. The most highlighted themes in the comments are Eğirdir and Lake Eğirdir. In the positive evaluations of the Eğirdir theme, its natural beauty and scenery were emphasized. In contrast, in the negative comments, the construction problem of Eğirdir and the lack of sufficient attention to tourism were noted. The positive comments on the Lake Eğirdir theme stated that it is a magnificent lake and should be seen. The negative comments on the Lake Eğirdir theme mentioned that it was not clean and there were too many flies.

    Determination of satisfaction levels of individuals participating in cultural tourism with chatgpt

    ChatGPT plays a crucial role in analyzing online comments from tourists, as demonstrated in this study. Through its analysis and interpretation capabilities, ChatGPT effectively identifies satisfaction factors in tourist comments regarding Zelve Open Air Museum, Pasabagi, Guray Museum, Goreme National Park, and Kaymakli Underground City. By delineating both positive and negative factors, ChatGPT adds a new dimension to the evaluation of online comments. Moreover, ChatGPT assigns satisfaction scores to these factors, further enhancing its contribution to the analysis of tourist feedback. Overall, this study highlights ChatGPT's ability to parse online comments, identify satisfaction factors, and provide valuable insights into tourist experiences. ©2024, IGI Global.     The use and effects of chatgpt in tourism education

    This study evaluates the role and impact of ChatGPT in tourism education. According to the study results, the areas of use of ChatGPT in tourism education are preparing course content, curriculum and exams, language learning, and obtaining theoretical knowledge. ChatGPT is suitable for academicians and students within the scope of tourism education. The factors affecting the applicability of ChatGPT in tourism education are the digital skills and technological predispositions of academics and students, ethical and security concerns, and the structural characteristics of tourism education. The positive effects of ChatGPT on tourism students are that it improves their research skills and efficiency, saves time, increases creativity, and provides access to information quickly. The negative effects of ChatGPT on tourism students are the possibility of making them lazy, accessing wrong information, reducing their thinking skills, and making them dependent on technology. © 2024, IGI Global.     Were Career Expectations Realized? Examining the Careers of Tourism Management Graduates

    The primary purpose of this study is to learn the career expectations of the individuals who graduated from the tourism management department before and after their education, and to investigate whether they have achieved success in their career expectations. The qualitative research method was adopted within the scope of the purpose of the study. A semi-structured interview form was prepared within the scope of the interview technique. There are five questions in the interview form. The purposive sampling was used in the study. Interviews were carried out with 19 graduates from the tourism management department. Interviews were conducted from September 10 to October 10, 2022. Content analysis was used in the written interview notes. As a result, themes and codes were created. These themes are reasons for preference, career expectations before and after graduation, career support, and career barriers. When the study findings are evaluated in general, the career expectations of individuals before and after graduation differ. It is observed that individuals who have career expectations for the sector have problems realizing their expectations. However, individuals who have career expectations outside the industry realize these expectations. Individuals with expectations for the tourism sector reduce their expectations to a low level after graduation. Individuals stated that they received the most support from family and university professors in their career expectations. In the obstacles individuals face, the hotel managers and the individuals themselves are at the forefront. Some suggestions have been developed within the scope of the study findings.
