Öğe Ceratothoa oestroides (Risso, 1826) (Isopoda: Cymothoidae) in black seabream from the Northern Aegean Sea(2009) Gökpinar S.; Ozgen E.K.; Yildiz K.Ceratothoa oestroides (Risso, 1826), is an ectoparasite found in a variety of fish species. This parasite was detected on caudal pedoncule of black seabram (Spondyliosoma cantharus) hunted in Balikesir. This is the first report of C. oestroides in the black seabram (Spondyliosoma cantharus).Öğe [The effect of different temperatures on viability of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus first stage larvae in faeces of cats].(2010) Gökpinar S.; Yildiz K.Aelurostrongylus abstrusus lives in the respiratory bronchioles and alveolar canals in the lungs of the cat and causes parasitic pneumonia. In present study, the effect of different temperatures on the viability of first stage larvae in feces of cats naturally infected with A. Abstrusus was investigated. Feces of cats were divided into two portions. One portion was left at room temperature (21-24 degrees C) and the other, left at +4 degrees C for three month-period. The fecal samples were examined by Baermann and McMaster techniques at 15 day-intervals. The number of living first stage larvae detected gradually decreased. The latest time of live larvae found in faeces left at room temperature was the 45th day and at +4 degrees C, the 60th day.Öğe Farkli yönleriyle NETosis(Refik Saydam National Public Health Agency (RSNPHA), 2017) Sürsal N.; Yildiz K.Autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases have dramatically increased in both developed and developing countries. The etiology of these diseases is complex and developed due to multifactorial causes. It is tought that autoantigens are the basis of systemic autoimmune diseases in organism. Recent studies have revealed that NETosis can triggered some autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases, so this defence mechanism has begun to attract great interest. A better understanding of this complex mechanism is believed to have a promising and critical prescription for the identification of new treatment modalities for these diseases with the development of important tools in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases. In this review, information has been given on NETosis which is participate in some pathologies in the organism.Öğe The first record on Giardia muris from mice in Turkey(Springer, 2020) Sursal N.; Yildiz K.Giardia muris has been reported from both laboratory and wild rodents in worldwide. During routine care, soft consistency was observed in feces of Swiss albino mice. Motile Giardia spp. trophozoites were observed microscopically on all fecal preparations after stained with Lugol’s iodine solution. The trophozoites were broadly ovoid in a form with a pointed end. They possess two large nuclei and an adhesive disk whose length overlapped one-half of the trophozoite body length. The caudal flagella are unequal. ? giardin (bg) gene region of isolates was successfully amplified and sequenced. According to sequence analyses of the bg gene region, the mice isolate was identified as G. muris and deposited in GenBank (Accession Number: MK675656). The bg sequence of G. muris was shown 99.3–99.7% identity with the isolates of G. muris reported from different countries in GenBank. We have firstly demonstrated G. muris trophozoites in the fecal samples of naturally infected Swiss albino mice in Turkey. © 2020, Indian Society for Parasitology.Öğe The role of parasites in monitoring of environmental pollution(2008) Yildiz K.Heavy metals are known for their toxic effects on organisms. The toxic metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury are continuously released into the aquatic environment from different sources. The relationship between parasitism and environmental pollution has been of interest during recent years. Different helminth species, especially Acanthocephala, have been investigated in respect to heavy metal accumulation in their bodies. The importance of parasites for monitoring of environmental pollution was discussed in the present article.Öğe The scanning electron microscopic examination of Avitellina centripunctata and Thysaniezia ovilla(2007) Yildiz K.In present study, Avitellina centripunctata and Thysaniezia ovilla, the sestodes of sheep and goat, were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Strobila and unarmed scolex of T.ovilla and A.centripunctata were observed.
