Öğe The impact of orienteering sport taught through creative drama methods on five factor personality dimensions(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Deniz, Ekrem; Yoncalik, Oguzhan; Aslan, Sevda; Sofi, NuriThis study aims to analyze the impact of orienteering sport taught through creative drama methods on individuals' emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions. With this aim in, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions and based on Five-Factor Theory was implemented on physical education department students at Kirikkale University during spring 2010-2011 academic year. The ABPT was implemented on university students before they started studying orienteering sport taught by creative drama methods. The test consisting of emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness dimensions includes 40 items. The ABPT was implemented on the students again after they had completed the 10-week orienteering sport programme taught by creative drama methods. The findings of this study revealed that there was a meaningful difference between the emotional instability/neuroticism, extroversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness dimensions pretest and posttest scores of the study group in favour of conscientiousness dimension.Öğe Overdraw Prevention and Imaginary Shooting Line Practice in Archery(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2023) Aslan, Emrah; Yoncalik, OguzhanLearning a new skill involves learning the appropriate basic form. In archery basic form is shooting form and it has globally accepted standards. Shooting form general lines are divided into phases as stance, nocking the arrow, hooking, and gripping, setup, drawing, loading, anchoring, holding, expansion and aiming, release and follow-through. Archery skills are characterized by repeating the same movements with high similarity and consists of phases that continue one after another. This article is about simple and affordable teaching tips for archery teaching. It proposes an answer to the question How can I get correct shooting form more easily? .Öğe Perceptions Of Physical Education And Sports Teachers Towards Folk Dance In Turkey(Stellenbosch Univ, 2017) Yoncalik, Oguzhan; Demirel, Mesut; Yoncalik, Melike T.The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions about folk dance of a group of Physical Education and Sports teachers (males n=130; females n=37), working in primary and secondary schools in different cities in Turkey. Despite their positive perception of dance as a social activity, the teachers showed an impartial attitude towards dance as a sport. They considered, dance and sport as two different fields. The consensus among the Physical Education and Sports teacher participants was that dance teaching was not a duty they should fulfil at schools. The participants were not opposed to a separate dance course at schools. In terms of gender, the female Physical Education and Sports teachers had more positive attitudes towards dance than the male teachers. One of the interesting results of this study was the data obtained from the analysis according to the teachers' specialties. Subsequent to the teachers who specialised in folk dance, the teachers who had the most positive attitude towards folk dance were the teachers in the martial arts (wrestling, judo, boxing, taekwondo) group.Öğe The physical education lesson in Turkish primary schools: Affective entry characteristics and gender(Stellenbosch Univ, 2011) Yoncalik, OguzhanIn the study students' affective entry characteristics related to Physical Education lessons were examined based on three dimensions: interest towards the lesson, level of motivation in the lesson and educational gains. The study further aimed to investigate how these three dimensions were affected by the gender factor. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire developed by Yoncalik in 2006. A total of 1089 seventh grade pupils (530 girls; 559 boys) from 22 state primary schools in Konya and Ankara city centres participated in the study. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences 11.0 (SPSS) was used for the statistical analysis of the data. The t-test for independent groups was utilised to compare the participants' responses in terms of gender. The level of significance was set at p<0.05.
