Öğe Designing a Knowledge Management Syllabus: How Business Administration Students Learn at a Summer School?(Acad Conferences Ltd, 2012) Yucel, RecepTeaching knowledge management is one of the most growing interests in today's universities program. A new syllabus for the bachelor degree (BA) business students at summer school should be covered in five different modules: (1) The knowing process (2) The hierarchy of knowledge (3A) The "knowledge management" definition and related discipline: history and roots (3B) The "knowledge management" definition and related discipline: Interdisciplinary perspectives and KM paradigms (4) KM in organizations: requirements and advantages of models (5) Knowledge mapping techniques and designing a new 'Knowing Organization': close session. The syllabus is suitable for creating awareness for the students on knowledge management discipline and practices at the introductory level. The syllabus provides high competitive advantage for the students' professional career.Öğe Employees' Perceptions towards Ethical Business Attitudes and Conduct(Igiad-Turkish Entrepreneurship & Business Ethics Assoc, 2012) Yucel, Recep; Ciftci, Gamze EbruIn today's globalized world, business ethics has become a sensitive and important issue. In this regard, this paper will firstly discuss the definition, scope and importance of ethics and business ethics. The purpose of this survey type study is to analyze the perception of business ethics in a public higher education institution through a scale titled ethical attitudes and conduct in the workplace. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to a total of 317 employees. The data were analyzed using frequency, t-test and ANOVA tests. The findings of the study tend to indicate that the participants hold positive attitudes towards ethical business conduct. The demographic characteristics, such as employees' age, education level, and marital status cause significant differences in perceptions, whereas, gender, period of employment, and income level do not have a significant impact on perceptions.Öğe Globalization of markets, marketing ethics and social responsibility(Intech Europe, 2010) Yucel, Recep; Dagdelen, OsmanIn recent years, owing to the globalization of markets and production processes, an ever increasing number of marketers and entrepreneur and business manager have to deal with ethics and social responsibility issues in cross-cultural settings. In this article, main approaches in marketing ethics and social responsibility have been reviewed for ethical analysis and business manager in international settings. The main purpose of the study is to present some guidelines that can serve as a guide for global marketers in the important areas for markets ethics and social responsibility. It is supposed to assist marketers in their efforts to behave in an ethical fashion. It is assumed that local conditions of markets may be different, but some global markets, ethics and social responsibility principles should be applicable to all markets. It is proposed that a uniform code of ethics and social responsibility should be created by WTO and UN organizations to solve diverse cultural differences to arrive at cooperative strategies in markets.Öğe The Mediating Effect of Internal and External Job Satisfaction on Relationships Between Organizational Justice and Organizational Commitment: A Study on the Banking Sector(Eskisehir Osmangazi Univ, Fac Education, 2011) Erkus, Ahmet; Turunc, Omer; Yucel, RecepIn the present study, we examine the relationship between organizational justice and organizational commitment; in the meantime we researched the mediating role of internal and external job satisfaction in this relationship. Data collected from 269 employees in banking sector are evaluated. Results shows that the interactional justice dimension of organizational justice has an effect on organizational commitment with the mediation of intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction. Results also indicate that neither distributive justice nor procedural justice has an effect directly or indirectly on organizational commitment. As another finding of the study was that distributive justice and interactional justice dimensions have positive and significant effects on extrinsic job satisfaction; whereas interactional justice have positive and significant effects on intrinsic job satisfaction.
