Öğe JAK/STAT pathway modulation: Does it work in dermatology?(Wiley, 2019) Gündüz, ÖzgürJanus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT)-is an intracellular signaling pathway, which plays a key role in downstream transmission of extracellular signals from cell membrane to the cell nucleus. This pathway is activated by cytokines, which participate in inflammation, innate and acquired immune responses, and also cell growth. Recent studies point out possible disturbances in JAK/STAT pathway in various inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata. Several molecules that modulate-inhibit-this pathway are currently under investigation for the evaluation of their clinical use in dermatological diseases. A brief overview of the therapeutical use of JAK/STAT inhibitors in dermatology will be provided here.Öğe Candidal vulvitis: a possible trigger for lichen striatus(John Libbey Eurotext Ltd, 2018) Gunduz, Ozgur; Cakartas, Rebiye; Demirkan, Serkan; Atasoy, Pinar…Öğe Signet-ring cells in the skin: a case of late-onset cutaneous metastasis of gastric carcinoma and a brief review of histological approach(Pagepress Publ, 2016) Gunduz, Ozgur; Emeksiz, Mehmet Can; Atasoy, Pinar; Kidir, Mehtap; Yalcin, Selim; Demirkan, SerkanUp to 10% of patients with visceral malignancies develop skin metastases during their clinical course and these metastases constitute about 2% of all skin cancers. Skin metastasis may be the first sign of a clinically silent visceral cancer or represent recurrence of an internal malignancy. In both situations, they are associated with poor prognosis, which can partly be attributed to underdiagnosis. In this paper, a case of relapsing gastric adenocarcinoma, which manifested itself as asymptomatic cutaneous papules and nodules on a patient's head and neck, is reported and histopathological approach to the cutaneous lesions containing signet-ring cell is briefly reviewed.Öğe First multifocal bullous fixed drug eruption due to etodolac(Elsevier Espana Slu, 2014) Kalkan, I.
