Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğrenen öğrencilerin sözlü iletişim stratejileri: Konuşma becerisi

Abstract

Yabancı dil öğreniminin ve öğretimin en önemli amaçlarından biri şüphesiz hedef dilde iletişim kurabilmektir. Bu nedenle öğrenilen hedef dilin kullanıcıları ile iletişime geçebilmek o dili öğrenenler açısından pek de kolay olmamaktadır. Bu noktada ise iletişim stratejileri devreye girmekte ve yabancı dil öğrenenler bu stratejileri bilinçli veya bilinçsiz olarak kullanmaktadırlar. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğrenen öğrencilerin iletişim stratejilerini kullanma düzeyleri çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırmada Yasuo Nakatani'nin 2006 yılında geliştirdiği Sözlü İletişim Stratejileri Envanterinin (Oral Communication Strategy Inventory) Konuşma Problemleriyle Başa Çıkma Stratejileri (Strategies for Coping With Speaking Problems) ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanmıştır. Araştırma Yunus Emre Enstitüsüne bağlı kültür merkezlerinde Türkçe öğrenen öğrenciler ve Gazi Üniversitesi TÖMER ile Kazakistan Ahmet Yesevi Üniversitesinde Türkçe öğrenen B1, B2 ve C1 seviyesinde 396 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilerin kişisel bilgileri ise yine araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t-testi, ANOVA ve Scheffe testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin akıcılık ve doğruluk odaklı stratejiler ortalama puanının 3,82, beden dilini kullanma ve dikkat çekici stratejiler ortalama puanının 3,787 mesaj azaltma ve değiştirme stratejileri ortalama puanının 2,983 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar kapsamında Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenenlerin akıcılık ve doğruluk odaklı stratejiler ile beden dilini kullanma ve dikkat çekici stratejileri yüksek düzeyde; mesaj azaltma ve değiştirme stratejilerini ise orta düzeyde kullandıkları tespit edilmiştir. One of the most important goals of foreign language learning and teaching is inarguably achieving communication in the target language. For this reason, being able to communicate with the users of the target language is not quite easy for learners of the language in question. At this point, communication strategies come into play and foreign language learners apply these strategies consciously or unconsciously. In this regard, the levels of students learning Turkish as a foreign language in the context of applying communication strategies were examined in terms of various variables. In this research, Oral Communication Strategy Inventory from Strategies for Coping with Speaking Problems developed by Yasuo Nakatani in 2006 was used. The screening model was utilized in the study. The study was carried out with 396 students learning Turkish at Cultural Centers of Yunus Emre Institude and, level B1,B2 and C1 students learning Turkish in Gazi University TÖMER and Kazakhstan Ahmet Yesevi University. Personal details of the students were collected by the 'Personal Information Form' prepared by the researcher. Data analysis was conducted through T-test, ANOVA and Scheffe Tests. In the research, it was determined that students' average score on fluency and accuracy- oriented strategies was 3.82, the average score of the Nonverbal Strategies and remarkable strategies was 3.787 and the average score of message reduction and alteration was 2.983. According to the results, it is identified that students learning Turkish as a foreign language apply fluency and accuracy-oriented strategies at a high level as well as Nonverbal Strategies and remarkable strategies. In addition, it is found that they use message reduction and alteration strategies at a medium level. Keywords: Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language, Speaking Strategies, Communication Strategies
