Öğe An in-situ fabrication technique to form integrated microelectrodes(Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society, 2015) Guler M.T.; Bilican I.; Isiksacan Z.; Agan S.; Elbuken C.In this study we have developed a new fabrication method to form microelectrodes for microfluidic applications. We present a microfabrication route to achieve embedded microelectrodes within a microchannel without needing for a microfabrication facility or lithography and metallization processes. This method includes attaching a gold microwires on a glass slide and bonding PDMS micro channels perpendicular to the microwire. Then aqua regia solution is passed through the channel etching the wire inside of the channel and forming two electrodes on the two sides. We applied these electrodes to the impedance flow cytometry for high sensitive detection of polystyrene beads and red blood cells. We also compared the performance of our electrodes with the coplanar electrodes which is the most commonly used geometry of the impedance flow cytometry. The etched electrodes give up to 20 times better SNR compared to coplanar electrodes. © 15CBMS-0001.Öğe Magnetic transitions and the magnetic characteristics of the martensitic transformations in A Fe-Mn-Co Alloy(2012) Yuksel M.; Agan S.In this study, the magnetic transitions and the magnetic characteristics of the thermally induced martensitic transformations in Fe-13.2%Mn-5.3%Co alloy have been investigated. The microstructure analysis of difusionless phase transformations forming in the alloy were performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the magnetic properties were revealed by Mössbauer spectroscopy and AC susceptibility. SEM observations reveal that two types of thermal-induced martensites, e (h.c.p.) and ? (b.c.c.) martensites, form in the austenite grains of the alloy. Mössbauer spectra at room temperature reveal a paramagnetic character with a singlet for the ? (fc.c.) austenite and e martensite phases and a ferromagnetic character with a broad sextet for ? martensite phase. In addition, measurement of the AC susceptibility of the alloy shows that the magnetic transition from the paramagnetic order to magnetic disordered occurs below room temperature at 258 K.Öğe Phonon-drag thermopower in Si:B and Si:Sb ?-doped samples(IOP, Bristol, United Kingdom, 2000) Agan S.; Mironov O.A.; Parker E.H.C.; Whall T.E.The thermal conductivity and the thermoelectric power of two dimensional hole and electron gases in B and Sb delta-doped Si structures have been measured for the first time. The temperature range was 1.4 K to 30 K, and carrier sheet densities were in the range 0.3 to 1.0 × 1014 cm-2. Kohn anomalies have been observed in all samples. The thermopower is dominated by the phonon drag contribution in each case. Calculations of the temperature dependence of the thermopower agree with experimental data when unscreened phonon scattering potentials are used for Si:B and Si:Sb.
