The Relation between the Theories of Psychology and Creativity

The concept of creativity is an ever existingnorm that plays a crucial role in all kinds of affective and intellectualdomains. In this context, the concept of creativity is treated in variousdifferent ways by the researchers from various fields based on the field-dynamicsand, thus, different definitions are made. The concept of creativity which hasbeen conceptualized and theorized in different ways by different disciplinessuch as philosophy, social sciences, fine arts, education and architecture andwhich is well beyond the simple definition and which has a multi dimensionalphenomenon has been classified in different ways. The concept that is studiedin many different fields will be evaluated on the basis of “theories ofpsychology” within the scope of this study. When all psychologicaltheories are examined in the development of psychology as a scientific field,behavior theories have not been evaluated in the scope of this study which ispartly due to the fact that the relation between behavior theories and creativitycouldn`t be established. Within scope of this study, instead, the relationbetween creativity and psychoanalytic, humanistic, gestalt and cognitive theorywill be analyzed.
