Özet
Askeri alandaki malzemelerin, tesisatın, taşınması gibi faaliyetleri gerçekleştirebilmek için ortaya çıkan lojistik; sanayileşme neticesinde seri üretilen ürünlerin iç pazara fazla gelmesiyle birlikte dış pazara yönelmesi sonucunda stratejik bir öneme sahip olmuştur. Lojistik talep edileni istenildiği yere zamanında ulaştırmaktır. Bu anlamda gelişen teknolojiler ve hızla değişen tüketici ihtiyaçları hızlı nakliyat gereksinimlerini doğurmuştur. Ayrıca lojistik faaliyetlerini ilgilendiren müşteri hizmetleri, üretim planlamaları, satın alma, depolama, ambalajlama, stok yönetimi, nakliye gibi işletmenin bütününü etkileyen lüm olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu nedenle lojistik yönetimi de büyük bir önem kazanmıştır. Lojistik yönetimi yapılırken lojistik sürecini, organizasyonunu, dağıtım kanallarını, lojistik üsler, göz önüne alınarak karar verilmelidir.
