| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, TÜBİTAK tarafından yayınlanan çocuk kitaplarını, çocuk edebiyatına uygunluğu yönünden incelemek, elde edilen sonuçlar çerçevesinde eğitimcilere, popüler bilim kitapları yayıncılarına ve velilere öneriler sunmak maksadıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini çocuk kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada TÜBİTAK Popüler Bilim Yayınları adı altında çocuklar için yayımlanmış olan toplam 250 kitabın %30'una karşılık gelen 75 kitap, araştırmanın örneklemi olarak belirlenmiş ve çocuk edebiyatı yönünden incelenmiştir. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak oluşturulmuş ve betimsel analiz yöntemi ile likert tipi sorular kullanılarak değerlendirme kriterleri belirlenmiş, elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda doküman incelenmesi yöntemiyle veriler değerlendirilmiş ve araştırmacı tarafından verilere bağlı kalınarak tablo yorumlamaları yapılmıştır. Belirlenen 75 kitabı, çocuk edebiyatına göre değerlendirmek amacı ile uzmanların görüşü alınarak "çocuk kitaplarını inceleme formu" oluşturulmuştur. Kitaplar, oluşturulan forma göre incelenmiş ve formda oluşturulan başlıklar çerçevesinde veriler elde edilmiştir. Veriler, belirlenen başlıklar çerçevesinde analiz edilerek yorumlanmıştır. İncelenen kitapların görsel özellikler bakımından; hacim ve kalınlık, kapak, kapak dokusu vb. yönlerden yeterli olduğu tespit edilirken, yazı karakterlerinin, görsellerin ve kitapların dış tasarımının yetersiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dil ve anlatım özellikleri bakımından; cümle yapısı, metinde işlenen zaman algısı vb. hususlarda yeterli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Mizah ögelerinin ve çocukların gelişim düzeyine uygun benzetme, kişileştirme vb. söz sanatlarının yetersiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İçerik özellikleri bakımından; kitaplarda din, dil ve cinsiyet ile ilgili ön yargıların bulunmaması, konu ve olay örgüsünün yaş gruplarına uygun olması gibi yönlerden yeterli oldu gözlenmiştir. Sıra dışı karakterlere yer verilmesi, anlatımda yaş gruplarına uygun edebî türlere yer verilmesi, kurgunun özgün olması anlatılan konu ile ilgili tanıtıcı bilginin verilmesi konularının yetersiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen yetersizliklerle ilgili önerilerde bulunulmuştur. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed at examining children's books published by Scientific and Technological Council of Turkey (TUBITAK in terms of their suitability for children's literature and recommending them to educators, publishers of Popular Science books and parents within the framework of the results obtained in the research. Children's books constitute the scope of the research. 75 books, corresponding to 30% of the total 250 books published for children under the name of TUBITAK Popular Science publications, were determined as a sample and studied from the point of children's literature. The qualitative research method was used in the study; descriptive analysis method was employed by using Likert-type questions to identify the evaluation criteria identified; the data obtained by the method of document analysis were evaluated and reviewed by the researcher based on the table interpretation of the data. A "children's Book Review form" was created by taking the opinion of experts to evaluate the 75 books selected according to children's literature. Books were analysed concerning the form created and data were obtained within the framework of the titles created in the form. The data was interpreted and studied within the framework of the determined headings. The books selected as examples for children's literature were found to be adequate as for visual properties, volume and thickness, cover, cover texture, etc., while the typefaces, visuals and exterior design of the books were found to be insufficient. As to language and narrative characteristics, the sentence structure and time perception represented in the text, etc. are satisfactory. It was seen that analogy, personification, and figures of speech were inadequate for humour elements and children's development level. On the other hand, about content characteristics, it was found out that the books did not have prejudices about religion, language and gender and that the subject and plot were appropriate for age groups. In the study, moreover, it was observed that representing unusual characters, giving place to literary genres suitable for age groups in the narrative, and giving introductory information about the subject being told to be original in fiction were inadequate in the books selected. Recommendations have been made regarding the deficiencies identified in the study. | |
