Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, yükseköğretimde uluslararasılaşmanın verilen eğitimin kalitesi üzerinde etkisi olup olmadığını öğrenciler üzerinden tespit etmektir. Bu amaçla Kayseri'de bulunan ikisi devlet ve biri vakıf olmak üzere toplam üç üniversitede öğrenim gören toplam 909 öğrenciye 49 soruluk bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anketlerde öğrencilere üniversitelerindeki eğitimin kalitesini ve uluslararasılaşmayı ölçen çeşitli sorular sorulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada yükseköğretimde uluslararasılaşma bağımsız değişken, eğitim kalitesi ise bağımlı değişken olarak kabul edilmiş ve uluslararasılaşmanın eğitim kalitesi üzerinde olumlu ve pozitif yönde bir etkisi olduğu varsayılmıştır. Yapılan istatistiki analizler bu varsayımın doğruluğunu ortaya koymuş ve uluslararasılaşmanın eğitim kalitesi üzerinde etkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Cinsiyete ve araştırılan üniversitelere göre değerlendirildiğinde ise eğitimde kalite ve uluslararasılaşma algısının kız ya da erkek öğrencilere göre değişmediği, bununla birlikte öğrenim görülen üniversitelere göre değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Diğer taraftan çalışmanın bulgularını desteklemek amacıyla, yukarıda belirtilen anket uygulamasının yanı sıra araştırma grubu üniversitelerin internet ortamından temin edilen iç değerlendirme raporları üzerinden içerik analizi de yapılmıştır. MAXQDA nitel veri analizi programıyla yapılan analizlere göre üniversitelerin raporlarında yükseköğretimde uluslararasılaşmadan ziyade eğitim kalitesine vurgu yaptıkları tespit edilmiştir. Bu teorik bulgu, anketlerde öğrencilerin derslerinde yeterli sayıda yabancı uyruklu öğrenci ve öğretim elemanı olmadığını belirtmeleri, yabancı dile yeterince önem verilmediğini düşünmeleri ve uluslararası bir üniversitede öğrenim görmediklerini ifade etmeleriyle pratikte de örtüşmektedir.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of internationalization on education quality through the students who study at various Kayseri universities. Accordingly, a survey of 49 questions was implemented to a total number of 909 students who study at 3 different universities in Kayseri. In the survey, various questions measuring the educational quality and the internationalization at the universities were asked to the students. The data obtained were analyzed with the SPSS software. In the study, internationalization of higher education and educational quality were accepted independent and dependent variables respectively. Then, it was assumed that "internationalization of higher education had a significant and a positive effect on educational quality". The tests confirmed the positive and significant effect of internationalization on education quality. Furthermore, when the perceptions of the students were investigated in terms of their gender and universities they study, it was found that their perceptions of internationalization and education quality changed only on the basis of universites they study. On the other side, other than the empirical study shown above, self evaluation reports of the corresponding universities which were downloaded from the Internet were subjected to the content analysis in order to support the findings of the study. According to the analysis made with the MAXQDA, a qualitative data analysis software, it was found that the universities, in their reports, much more emphasized the education quality than internationalization at higher education. This theoretical finding matches up with the practical findings obtained from the surveys which indicated that there were no enough foreign students and faculties in the courses, no due importance was given to foreign language and no feel of studying at an international university.
