Objective: It is aimed to evaluate the relationship of routine surgical intervention applied to patients with cataracts with cognitive functions and biological rhythm. Material and Method: Volunteers with a diagnosis of cataract from patients who applied to the Kırıkkale University Medical Faculty Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinic will be included in the study. Biological Rhythm Assessment Interview (BRDG), Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test (MOCA) and Geriatric Depression Scale will be administered to those who volunteered to participate in our study after clinical evaluation and after routine surgical intervention. Statistics will be made by entering the data into SPSS. Results: There is a statistically significant difference between the sleep sub-dimension pre- and post-test scores (t:7.08;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.19±0.63) were higher than the post-test values (2.03±0.63). There is a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the activity sub-dimension (t:3,80;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.39±0.49) were higher than the post-test values (2.26±0.52). There is a statistically significant difference between the social sub-dimension pre- and post-test scores (t:2.80;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.13±0.50) were higher than the post-test values (2.06±0.49). There is a statistically significant difference between the pre- and post-test scores of the eating sub-dimension (t:19.75;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.22±0.42) were lower than the post-test values (2.85±0.58). There is a statistically significant difference between the pre- and post-test scores of the dominant rhythm sub-dimension (t:2.97;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.27±0.36) were higher than the post-test values (2.18±0.34). There is a statistically significant difference between the general pre- and post-test scores of the biological rhythm assessment scale (t:-8.65;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (2.24±0.34) were higher than the post-test values (2.13±0.36). There is a statistically significant difference between MoCA general pre- and post-test scores (t:-13.18;p<0.05). Looking at the mean values, it was determined that the pre-test values (21.58±4.07) were lower than the post-test values (23.68±4.21). Conclusion: After cataract surgery, it was understood that cognitive functions improved in general and positive or negative developments were observed in the biology rhythm sections. However, looking at the literature, more studies on this subject are needed.
