150 volunteer adolescents living in Yozgat, between the ages of 10-19, who do 300sports and do not do sports, participated in the study. The main purpose of the research is to determine the nutritional habits and stress status changes of adolescents who do or do not do sports before the pandemic, staying at home and in the new normal periods. In this crosssectional study, questions about demographic characteristics and health, nutrition, physical activity status and STAI 1-2 tests were administered to the participants by face-to-face method. The height and weight values of the adolescents included in the study were examined according to the z-score of body weight for age and height for age z-score. According to the Z scores, the body weight of 45.00% of the adolescents who do sports is in the range of >-1 SD <1 SD (normal), while the body weight of 54.70% of the adolescents who do not do sports is in this range. When we look at the heights according to the Z scores, 43.00% of the adolescents who do sports and 45.30% of those who do not do sports are in the range of >-1 SD <1 SD (normal). In this age group, height and body weight are affected by many variables. Since many variables were used in our study, we cannot give clear information about whether the study group made adequate development or not. 43.70% of the adolescents who do sports and 63.30% of the adolescents who do not do any sports do not have a nutrition program. The nutrition program of 15.70% of the adolescents who do sports is created by the trainer and 11.00% by the dietitian. Of the adolescents doing sports, 76.30% stated that they had a healthy diet before the pandemic, 46.30% stayed at home, and 67.66% stated that they had a healthy diet in the new normal period. Of the adolescents who do not do sports, 45.30% stated that they ate healthy before the pandemic, 36.0% stayed at home, and 41.30% in the new normal period. Adolescents who do sports have a healthy diet compared to their peers who do not do sports in these three periods. However, the healthy nutritional status of adolescents who do sports during the stay-at-home period has decreased compared to other periods. VI Many factors affect the nutritional status of this age group. The aim of our study was to examine how this situation changes in the stay-at-home and new normal periods, considering that the adolescents who do sports have a healthy diet compared to the adolescents who did not do sports in the pre-pandemic period. As a result of the questionnaire we applied and the frequency of food consumption records, it was seen that adolescents try to eat healthier than their peers who do not do sports, but they do not have enough knowledge and opportunity for this. With the pandemic period, the nutrition of adolescents who do or do not do sports hasbeen adversely affected. Consumption of foods with high energy value, carbohydrate and fat content has increased by adolescents. Keywords: adolescence, adolescent period, adolescent nutrition, athlete adolescent nutrition, nutrition, stress status change, covid-19, pandemic, staying at home, new normal
