| dc.description.abstract | Bilim tarihi, bir disiplin olarak son dönemde ortaya çıkmıştır. Bununla birlikte onun tarihsel kökenleri bulunmaktadır. Bilim tarihi, başlangıçtan itibaren bir tür erken klasik döneme ait bilimlerin tarihi olarak sunulmuştur. Bu kabul, bilimin salt Batı kaynaklı bir yapıya sahip olduğu fikrini de doğurmuştur. Bilim tarihi, bir disiplin olarak, bilimin doğası, gelişimi ve içeriği üzerine odaklanmış, bünyesinde farklı yaklaşımları da barındıran özel bir bilim dalıdır. Onun temel amacı, insan aklının, gerçekliğin bilgisini elde etme yolunda ortaya koyduğu çabaları, bütün yönleriyle aydınlatmaktır. Ülkemizde bilim tarihi alanında anılması gereken isimlerden biri kuşkusuz Fuat Sezgin’dir. Sezgin, oryantalistlerin yöntemlerine uygun olarak, bitmeyen bir disiplin ve gayretle İslam bilim tarihinin en önemli kesimlerini keşfetmiş, yorumlamış ve alan bağlamında ilgili çevrelere sunmuştur. Çalışmamızda bilim tarihinin doğası ve işlevinin yanı sıra Fuat Sezgin’in alan bağlamında kültürümüze olan katkılarını irdeleyeceğiz. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The history of science has recently emerged as ascientific discipline. Although it is a new discipline, the history of sciencehas historically old origins. History of science has been put forward as ahistory of ancient sciences. This tendency has given rise to a perception that sciencehas a Western origin as a history. History of science is a scientificdiscipline that focuses on the nature, development and content of science, andincorporates quite different approaches. The main objective of all theseapproaches is to illuminate all aspects of the human mind's efforts to reachreality. One of the names worthy of mentioning in the field of history ofscience in our country is Fuat Sezgin. Sezgin has carried out his scientificstudies in the style of orientalists in all his life and presented the mostimportant elements of the history of Islamic science to the scientific andcultural community. In this study, we will examine the nature and function ofthe history of science as well as Fuat Sezgin's contributions to our culture inthe context of this discipline. | |
