Özet
Modern siyaset kuramcısı olarak kabul edilen Niccolò Machiavelli, kendisinden önceki düşünürlerden farklı bir siyaset anlayışı ortaya koymuş ve böylece yaşadığı dönemden günümüze kadar ismi felsefede, siyaset biliminde ve gündelik politikada çokça anılmıştır. Kimilerine göre aklı ön plana alan realist bir düşünürken kimilerine göre kötülüğün öğretmeni olan Machiavelli'nin, siyaset ve ahlak kavramları arasındaki ilişkinin nasıl olması gerektiğine dair çıkarımları, onu hala çok konuşulan biri haline getirmiştir. "Amaca giden her yol mubahtır" anlamındaki Makyavelizm kavramıyla özdeşleştirilmiştir. Günümüze kadar eleştirel olarak kullanılan Makyavelizm kavramının, Machiavelli'nin siyaset düşüncesi ile ilişkisi çokça merak edilen ve tartışılan bir konu haline gelmiştir. Bu durum çalışmada Machiavelli'nin siyasetini konu almamıza neden olmuştur. Üç bölümden oluşan tezde, Machiavelli'nin en önemli iki eseri olan Hükümdar ve Söylevler eseri üzerinde çokça durularak, siyaset anlayışı tüm eleştirilerden ve önyargılardan arındırılarak araştırılmıştır. Aynı zamanda Makyavelizm kavramının oluşum sürecini ve Machiavelli bağlantısı konu alınarak, Machiavelli'nin Makyavelizm olarak olumsuz anlam içeren deyişi hangi ölçüde hak ettiğinin temelleri de gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır. Machiavelli, who is accepted as a modern political theorist, has put forward a different understanding of politics from the thinkers before him, and thus his name has been mentioned a lot in philosophy, politics and daily politics from the time he lived to the present day. Machiavelli, who is realist thinker who puts the mind in the foreground according to some, and the teacher of evil according to others, has made him a widely spoken person with his inferences about how the relationship betwen the concepts of politics and morality should be. It has been identified with the concept of Machiavellianism, meaning "Every way to the goal is permissible". The relationship between the concept of Machiavellianism, which has been used critically until today, and Machiavelli's political thought has become a subject o much curiosity and discussion. In our thesis, which consists of three chapters, the two most important works of Machiavelli, The Sovereign and Discourses, are emphasized and the understanding of politics is investigated by purifying it from all criticisms and prejudices. At the same time, the formation process of the concept of Machiavellianism and the connection with Machiavelli will be discussed and the foundations of Machiavelli's deserving of the negative meaning as Machiavellianism will be tried to be shown.
