The family has stood out as the most important unit of society since ancient times. The family institution has important functions in society, and thanks to these functions, the family maintains its dynamic structure within itself, while family members communicate with other individuals in the society. The family is responsible for performing basic functions such as ensuring the continuity of the population and economic functioning, transferring culture, traditions and customs from generation to generation, and preparing the child for the outside world socially, economically and individually. From a sociological point of view, all these responsibilities are indispensable for a healthy family and a healthy society. Problems that the family institution cannot manage within itself carry the risk of turning into a crisis over time; If these crises are not resolved, the basic dynamics of the family suffer. In particular, children in the family can be adversely affected by reasons such as separation between parents, divorce or the death of one or more of the family members. As a result, such family structures, which are described as broken families, can pave the way for serious problems by interrupting the individual and social life in a way that affects the healthy development and future lives of the child. Therefore, it is very important to protect the development and psychology of children who are exposed to processes that are experienced in a broken family environment and that traumatize all family members. In this study, the social and individual problems of children with broken families were tried to be examined from a sociological perspective.
