dc.description.abstractMatmazel Noraliya'nin Koltugu, one of the remarkable novels by Peyami Safa, discusses a theme related to the conflict between the East and the West as many other novels by him does. He compares the mystic East with the rationalist West in this novel. This paper deals with the dilemma between the spirit and the material is reflected to the novel in terms of characters and events / facts from the protagonist Ferit's point of view while indicating the predominant and the defective qualities of the novel.
