Özet
Bu araştırma, bedeni görsel olarak kaplayan dövmelerin sosyolojik okumasını yapmayı hedeflemiştir. Beden, toplumun, kültürün ve öznenin ortak inşa unsuru, sosyal etkileşimin aracıdır. Bu bakımdan beden, topluma ve kültüre dair izler barındıran, bireylerin kimlik, benlik ve görüşlerini yansıtan sosyal bir fenomendir. Beden üzerine işlenmiş yazılar ve şekiller olarak karşımıza çıkan dövmeler, pek çok şeyi anlatma, sembolleştirme ve iletme gücüne sahiptir. Araştırmanın amacı, dövme yapımındaki motivasyonları kavramak, dövmeli bedenlerin inşa sürecini aydınlatmak, dövmelerin bireysel ve toplumsal anlamlarını ortaya çıkarmak, dövmelerin bireyin sosyokültürel arka planına ve kimliğine göre nasıl şekillendiğini anlamaktır. Araştırma, dövmelerde kullanılan sembol, yazı ve şekillerin daha derin anlamlarına da odaklanmıştır. Bu araştırmada nitel yöntem benimsenmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde 30 dövmeli birey ve 5 dövmeci ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Bununla beraber katılımcıların dövmeleri fotoğraflanmış ve göstergebilimsel olarak çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular yedi başlık halinde sunulmuştur. Dövmenin toplumdaki görünümleri çeşitlenmektedir. İlk bölümde katılımcıların, dövmeleri anlamsal ve biçimsel olarak nasıl algıladığı ve konumlandırdığı ortaya konulmuştur. İlerleyen bölümlerde dövmeler, aidiyetlerin ve bağlılıkların sembolü, isyanın simgesi, beğeni tarzının ve kültürel birikimin sergilenme alanı, gücün sembolü, yas tutma biçimi, estetik ve tüketim temaları etrafında değerlendirilmiştir. This research aims to make a sociological reading of tattoos that visually cover the body. The body is a common construction element of society, culture and the subject, a means of social interaction. In this regard, the body is a social phenomenon that contains traces of society and culture and reflects the identity, self and views of individuals. Tattoos, which appear as inscriptions and shapes on the body, Tattoos have the power to express, symbolize and convey many matter. The purpose of the study is to learn the motivations in tattoo making, to illuminate the construction process of tattooed bodies, to reveal the individual and social meanings of tattoos, to understand how tattoos are shaped according to the cultural background of the individual and the identity. The study also focused on the deeper meanings of symbols, writings and shapes used in tattoos. The qualitative method was adopted in this study. In-depth interviews were conducted with 30 tattooed individuals and 5 tattoo artists during the research process. In addition, the tattoos of the participants were photographed and analyzed semiotically. The findings are presented under seven headings. The appearance of tattoos in society is diversified. In the first part, it was revealed how the participants perceived and positioned the tattoos semantically and formally. In the following sections, tattoos are evaluated around the symbols of belonging and devotion, the symbol of rebellion, the display area of taste style and cultural accumulation, the symbol of power, the form of mourning, aesthetics and consumption.
