Silah sanayinin Osmanlı Devleti'nin kuruluş yıllarından itibaren yaniTophane-i Amire'den günümüz Makine Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu'na kadar tarihi birsüreci yaşamıştır.Bu süreç içinde silah sanayi 1921 yılı sonrasında Anadolu'da canlanmış veKeskin ilçesine bağlı olan Yahşihan, Kırıkköyü, Ahılı ve Yuva köyleri arazileriüzerinde bu tesisler kurularak bir cumhuriyet şehri olan Kırıkkale kurulmuştur.Yine silah sanayinin Keskin ilçesi arazileri üzerinde kurulma sebepleri; bölgeinsanının Milli Mücadele'ye verdiği destekle birlikte bölgenin coğrafi konumu veKızılırmak kıyısında olmasıdır.
